I began my career as a teacher in the primary grades and loved it. I soon came to realize that I was interested in helping my students deal with social-emotional issues so I pursued a degree in elementary school counseling. Upon graduation, I was hired at St. Linus School in Oak Lawn and worked there for 18 years. I first came to St. Damian as a member of a Crisis Response Team to deal with a tragedy. Shortly after, I was offered the counseling position here where I have worked since. In addition to my position at St.Damian, I work at a private practice as a therapist.
My job is never boring! My school days are filled with guidance classes, group counseling, conflict resolution, individual sessions, meetings with parents, and teacher consultations. I am grateful to be a part of this caring community. I enjoy spending time with my husband, 2 daughters, and 3 grands along with traveling, gardening, reading and exercising.
