Stained Glass Watercolor 4th graders talked about symbols and how they have been used in stained glass. We discussed the characteristics of stained glass and then 4th grade students created their own watercolor paintings inspired by stained glass.
Recyled Container Baskets The art room seems to accumulate recycled containers which are perfect for all kinds of activities, but we can use them for more than just water containers ! Our 4th grade first practiced weaving with strips of paper from old magazines before creating these baskets. Students created spokes using old, paper icecream cups and wove yarn around them to make these new creations, just in time for Easter !
Comic Stips 4th graders practiced their writing and drawing skills to create their own, unique comic characters. We discussed how to create a short story and then illustrate their stories. They also used their measuring skills to create their own comic strip stories. Each character that was created was so unique!
Positive and Negative Space Pumpkins To celebrate the Halloween season, the fourth graders created these unique, symmetrical pumpkins using their knowledge of positive and negative space. |
