 The purpose of the St. Damian School Board is the development of policy to set the general direction of the school. All policies must be in accordance with those established by the Archdiocesan Office of Catholic Schools. The board strives to improve educational opportunity, to provide and maintain facilities for education, and to improve school-community relationships. Board meetings are usually held in the St. Damian School Library on the second Monday of alternate months at 7:00 p.m. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings. The dates of the meetings are published in the church bulletin and in the school's monthly newsletter. Archdiocesan policy 189 states: "School Boards are not grievance committees and have no authority to act as such."
